Reserved Seats

The reserved seats depict a Japanese mountain range with a motif featuring a mountain landscape in a dark yellowish color. The passenger cabin finish reflects an orangeish cherry tree tone, while a similarly wood-like material is adopted for the handgrips and tables, to create a warm atmosphere. This premium and relaxed environment envelopes the passengers.

Reserved Salon Seats

The new salon seats were upgraded from the reserved salon seats on the Hikari Rail Star Series 700, in an attempt to achieve further ride comfort. For passengers with children, the armrests are movable so that the seat can be used as a bench seat.

New Reclining Structure

The seats have been upgraded by adopting a new reclining structure for reserved salon seats. Like the green seats, they naturally support the lower back via slight rear movements of the seat position, in conjunction with the movement of the backrest, to ensure superior ride comfort throughout long train journeys.
