ICOCA on Apple Pay
ABOUT
ICOCA can be added as an Apple Pay service on iPhones and Apple Watches.
Simply add ICOCA to your Apple Wallet to use your iPhone or Apple Watch just like an ICOCA for simple and fast touch payments at train stations and stores.
Payments are also protected by your device’s security features,
while Face ID and other settings can be configured to increase the safety and privacy of the personal information on your ICOCA.
Take advantage of ICOCA on Apple Pay for a safer, more convenient trip.
How to Use

Make sure your device is compatible!
- - iPhone 8 or later with iOS 16.0 or later installed
- - Apple Watch Series 3 or later with watchOS 8.7.1 or later installed
- * Always keep the OS of your device updated to the latest version.

Check your settings!
- • You must be signed in to iCloud using an Apple Account.
- • Your device’s region must be set to a country or region that supports Apple Pay (Countries and regions that support Apple Pay - Apple Support).
* To change your country or region, navigate to Settings > General > Language & Region. - • You must have a card issued by a credit card issuer in a country or region that supports Apple Pay.
* If you live in a country or region that supports Apple Pay, you can also issue ICOCA within your country. - • A valid credit card, debit card, or prepaid card must be linked to Apple Pay in Apple Wallet.
- -Funds can only be added using credit cards that include the international VISA, Mastercard, JCB, or American Express brand logo on the face in Apple Wallet.
- * Some cards are not supported. Contact your card issuer for details.

Add ICOCA
If you have a payment card set up in Apple Pay,
you can add funds to your ICOCA at any time.
* If you have already been issued a card-type ICOCA, you can transfer
any remaining funds and other information to Apple Wallet. -
Use easily at stations
and for shopping!Pass through ticket gates and pay for purchases simply by touching your iPhone or Apple Watch. Don’t forget to set your ICOCA as an Express Transit Card!

having to take out your phone or card.
Please Note
- • ICOCA cannot be refunded through Apple Wallet. Please use up as much of your remaining funds as possible.
- • Purchase Limited Express tickets separately when boarding a Limited Express train. (Example train: Limited Express HARUKA)
- • If payment processing occurs unexpectedly, such as because the ICOCA service was not responding properly when boarding the train, turn on Service Mode and show your device to the station attendant. Failing to turn on Service Mode may result in a security lock being applied, which will prevent the transaction from being processed. * If you are unable to turn on Service Mode, or if the operation differs from the procedure below due to your iOS version, etc., please contact Apple Support.
- * Service Mode is an emergency function on the iPhone/Apple Watch that can be activated when an error such as an incorrect remaining balance being displayed or no response or an incorrect response being received from the reader occurs.
