Car No. 6 of all Limited Express KUROSHIO trains running between Shirahama and Shingu Stations on the Kinokuni Line can be used by cyclists for the standard fare and reserved seat limited express train fares.
There is no charge for taking your bicycle onboard. You can borrow special covers at the ticket gate free of charge.

How to use
KUROSHIO CYCLE

  • There are dedicated seats for cyclists in Car No. 6
  • Four side-by-side seats for each passenger
    (no additional charge)
  • Safe and easy
    with your beloved bicycle
  • Just attach the special cover

Allowed bicycles

Bicycles that can be stored in a special cover (200 cm long) and are light enough to be lifted and are light enough to be lifted and propped up on a seat by one person Examples: road bike, mountain bike, X-bike, mini velo, folding bike

  1. Reserve tickets for car No. 6 on the Limited Express KUROSHIO CYCLE

    * The dedicated bicycle car may change to car No. 1.

  2. Borrow a special cover from the ticket gate

    * The pocket of the special cover contains a rubber strap to secure your bicycle and a cleaning rag.

  3. Hang your bicycle on the bike rack on the platform and attach the special cover

    * The pocket of the special cover should be on the front wheel.
    * See the video at the bottom for instructions on how to attach the special cover.

  4. Pick up your bicycle and board the train
    from car No. 6

    * The dedicated bicycle car may change to car No. 1.

  5. Lift your bicycle so that the special cover pocket (front wheel) is up, lean your bicycle against seats A and B adjacent to your reserved seat No., and secure it with the rubber strap

    * For the reservation screen shown on the right, you would leave your bicycle in seat No. 5 A and B of car No. 6.

  6. Enjoy the view of the Pacific Ocean from the train window

  7. Pick up your bicycle and get off the train from car No. 6

  8. Hang your bicycle on the bike rack on the platformand remove the special cover

  9. Return the special cover to the ticket gate

    * Please reinsert the fixing rubber strap and cleaning rag in the pocket of the special cover.

Rules for safe use

  • Be sure to secure your bicycle in the car with a rubber strap or rope. If you do not have anything to secure your bicycle, please ask a station attendant or crew member.

  • Move your bicycle only after the train stops.

  • Do not ride your bicycle on the station platform.

  • Elementary school students and younger must be accompanied by an adult.

  • You must carry your bicycle yourself. Keep your distance from other passengers.

  • Keep your bicycle within the yellow braille blocks.

Manners to ensure
a pleasant visit

  • Pedestrians have priority when passing each other.

  • When the train is crowded, please offer your seat to other passengers.

Cautions

  • You are responsible for your own safety and the safety of those around you.
  • This service is not available to large groups. Bicycles may not be allowed due to overcrowding.
